New open water swimming qualification

Hi I have been working for NOWCA and have been part of writing the new open water and pool to open water qualifications. These are the first anywhere to go onto the national framework. NOWCA's partners in this are the STA who are a governing body for swimming. We ran the first courses last weekend and in the next few years all open water swimming coaches will want to be on these courses. You could be taught by a coach who has been on this course. Open water swimming is growing and I am proud to be part of it. For more information go onto www.nowca.org

NOWCA.org teams up with TriSport Coaching & RKC

NOWCA.org has teamed up with TriSport Coaching and RKC to organise its coaching courses, events and shop sales.

The Events list is growing with swims, aquathons and a triathlon series all being launched. More details will follow but in the meantime visit www.trisportuk.org to see the new series of races. Other events lists are on www.nowca.org and www.rickkiddle.com where you can sign up. It's going to be a great season.

NOWCA Thorpe Swimming Lakes Opens 17th April

On the 17th April 2011 we will open a new open water swimming lake. Thorpe Park is very well known in the South East and probably further affield than that. Thorpe Lake is adjacent to Thorpe Park and only 5 minutes from J11 M25

It is a fantastically beautiful lake run by JBSki. NOWCA will set up their headquarters at the lake and run regualar open water swimming sessions as well as swim and swim/run events. There will be an onsite shop for all wetsuit sales. In short we can't wait! Tell everyone. If you go online to www.nowca.org you can sign up for the first swim free.

NOWCA is launching its newest lake where it will hold its headquarters. Thorpe Swimming Lake is probably the most complete and beautiful swimming lake in the south east. It is certainly the biggest with the most facilities! NOWCA intend to run regular swim sessions, coaching 1-2-1 & groups with level 3 BTF coaches, there will be a series of swim and swim/run evets throughout the season. Also NOWCA Sales Shop will be selling triathlon equipment and a full range of wetsuits to 'try and buy'.

Long overdue I'm pleased to say my new website has arrived, just in time for the launch of the 2011 season.

If you are new here then please have a look around, I offer a variety of courses, 1-2-1 coaching for swim, bike, run and personal training plus training aids - my DVD's make perfect gifts for those budding atheletes out there.

My New Year's resolution is to keep this blog updated - so stay tuned for frequent excursions into the World of Triathlon and beyond...

TCR 2011 is upon us next week. I am working hard to get ready for it. We are running the Zoggs SwimZone again and can't wait to meet everyone and give them swim analysis in the 'endless pool' - Stand Number B42
