RKC Elite TeamThis is the team we are building under the banner of ‘RKC Elite Team’ it will be an elite element of the newly formed High Wycombe Triathlon club. As such the RKC Elite is very hard to get into.

The aims of the ‘team’ includes getting maximum publicity in a variety of ways and drive people to the HWTC forum, RKC blog and sponsors links etc. It is very new and exciting but with backing from fantastic sponsors we are set for a very special few years.

We currently sit with five members to the team. Vernon kay, Lawrence Fanous, Paul lasenby, Joel Enoch and Rick Kiddle. Only have celebrities, elite athletes, top age group athletes and juniors with a huge potential need apply to be in the team. The panel deciding who will be in the team will sit once a month to look at any applicants. (see applicants form on website)

Other key focus of the team is to tap into the legacy aspects of 2012 and how we will not only be supporting an Olympic triathlete in Lawrence Fanous but also creating opportunities for young talent to blossom with support and coaching that we will make available.

Joel has raced in 3 European Age group Championships (2008, 2009, 2010) and 2 World Age Group Championships (2009, 2010), he has raced in 2 domestic Elite races (Blenheim and London) and wouldn’t have done too badly if his wetsuit zip hadn’t got completely stuck on both occasions! His finishing times have placed him in the top 6 overall at the Blenheim Triathlon in 2007, 08, 09 and 10 and he has qualified for the 2011 European Championships in Spain. However, in 2011 Joel’s focus is firmly fixed on securing a fast time at Outlaw (but he won’t say how fast) and doing the Beaver and Cowman along the way. Joel claims that he has ‘very little sporting ability but huge amounts of dedication, discipline, commitment and passion to succeed, I like the quote, “If you want somethin’ go get it, period!” ’.
After working as a Sport Scientist for the last two years, he is also now setting up a business (joelenoch.com) that aims to use sport to inspire and motivate children and adults to live more active lives and his science knowledge to educate them about proper nutrition. He also helps out with RKC events, writes for the open water swimming magazine H2Open and would like to do more coaching in the future.
